Gui-Hai Chen
A neurological professor specialized in the neuroscience field of sleep disorders, dementia, cerebrovascular disease, neuropathic pain and other neurological diseases. Chen graduated from the Anhui Medical University in 1986 with a bachelor of medicine in Clinical Medicine, subsequently obtained his PhD in geriatrics from the same university in 2005, then be one of the earliest doctoral supervisor in neurology in his province since 2006. Dr. Chen’s current research is directed at Alzheimer's disease (etiology, pathogenesis, treatment),aging(behavioral change, mechanism, intervention)and sleep disorders (genetic mechanism, treatment).In particular, he hosted several National Natural Science Foundation Projects about neuroscience since 2005. During the projects, his group obtained 1 national patent (Ab1-10 specific binding peptide and its screening method, ZL 2010 1 0518403.7). To date, he has published more than 40 papers about neuroscience in the journals of Science Citation Index, which are widely cited. Chen is also involved in numerous journal’s review panels, and served as the editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of Neurology, which is the top journal of the discipline in China. In addition, he is the editorial board member in many journals, such as International Journal of Neurology Research, EC Neurology, Journal of Neurobiology and Anatomical Sciences, Ageing Science & Mental Health Studies, Archives of Depression and Anxiety. He had authored one of the most important contents of the first-version Sleep Medicine textbook (Chapter 5 "Insomnia") for colleges in China. At present, Chen is introduced as the head of the department of neurology and sleep disorder as in China at the Affiliated Chaohu Hospital of Anhui Medical University
a subject leader.
