Basile-Angelo-profileBasile Angelo Bruno, Chemical Engineer (degree cum laude) with a Ph.D. in technical Physics, is a Senior Researcher at the Institute Membrane Technology (ITM) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). At ITM-CNR he is responsible of the researches related to both the ultra-pure hydrogen production and CO2 capture using Pd-based Membrane Reactors.

Angelo Basile’s h-index is 35, with 184 document results, cited by 1,589 documents and 3,152 total citations in the subject area: Energy, Chemical Eng., Materials Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, etc. (www.scopus.com, Dec. 1st, 2015).

Basile published many scientific books (23+7 in preparation) and book-chapters (80) on membrane science and technology, and more than 230 referred papers in proceedings in Int. Conferences; with 6 Italian patents, 2 European patents and 5 worldwide patents. He serves as reviewer for 90 int. scientific journals and is a member of the Editorial Board of 18 of them; Associate Editor of the Int. J. Hydrogen Energy – IJHE; Editor-in-chief of the Int. J. of Membrane Science and Technology – IJMST; Editor-in-chief of Membrane Processes (Applications), a section of the int. journal  Membranes; guest editor of 21 (+ 5 in press) Special Issues on Membrane Reactors and Membrane Science and Technology.

Since 2001, Basile is serving as expert referee for the MIUR (Italian Ministry of Research). He was also inserted in the list of the European experts in the field “Nanotechnologies and Nanosciences” of the VI Research Framework Programme (Brussels). Moreover, he participated to and was/is responsible of many national/international projects/contracts on membrane reactors and membrane science. Basile was the Director of the ITM-CNR during the period Dec. 2008 – May 2009. In the last 20 years, Basile was tutor of more than 30 Thesis for Master and Ph.D. students at the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Calabria. Since 2014 Basile is Full Professor of Chemical Engineering Processes.

A Compendium of Hydrogen Energy (Woodhead-Elsevier), 4 volumes, edited with Prof. Nejat Veziroglu, times ago nominated to the Nobel Price for Economy, is in press.
